Rocky Ridge Refugee is an animal sanctuary located in North Arkansas, that does amazing work on behalf of our animal friends. Janice Wolf, the founder of Rocky Ridge Refugee is known as being selfless and committed, spending many hours a day tending to the animals in her care. She handles particularly difficult cases, such as the case of the five-year-old starved German Shepherd who was abandoned by her former guardians earlier this year.
Heartbreakingly, Janice recently took to the Rocky Ridge Refuge Facebook page to share a personal update with supporters: she was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. What’s worse, Janice notes that the cancer has likely spread.
A board member set up the fundraiser after seeing the outpouring of Support for Janice. If you would like to contribute to the fundraiser, you can do so here.
Janice remains dedicated to the animals in her care, stating on Facebook that, “My main concern is for the animals here. Since I have always done this alone, I must train someone to take over for me while I undergo surgery and recovery.” Rocky Ridge Refugee is now adopting out some of the animals in their care, but only “homes that will truly be a good match will be considered.” If you are interested in providing a forever home to one of the animals, or know someone who is, you can contact Rocky Ridge Refugee here.
We wish Janice all the best and hope for a positive recovery!

GREAT PERSON AT ROCKY RIDGE REFUGE . HOPE THIS GREAT PERSON NAMED JANICE WINS THE BATTLE OF BEATING CANCER TO KEEP HELPING THE GREAT ANIMALS HERE .
I understand. I have far less animals and worry about getting sick before they are all gone (2 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 birds). i wish Janice well. I wish I could take one of the animals. That zebra is lovely but a little big. Anyone that dedicated should live a long life.
I don\’t know you Janice, but every animal lover is a friend. I hope things go well for you for the future you deserve it for all you\’ve done.xx
