Mountain Gorillas Are Going Extinct Due to Human Greed – Act Now to Save Them!

The Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa is home to the second-largest rainforest in the world. Within the lush forests live incredible species found no where else in the world, like mountain gorillas and forest elephants. However, due to rampant poaching and civil unrest in the Congo, these beautiful animals are nearing extinction.
In a petition on Care2, the Rainforest Alliance is calling on us to make a pledge to save these irreplaceable forests. The Congo Basin spans across eight countries, but saving the forests does not just affect the local areas. As a major vital ecosystem on the planet, the Congo Basin extraordinarily contributes to biodiversity. Because of this, the destruction of the Congo Basin will have a direct effect on all other corners of the world.
The petition explains how the development of mono-crops like rubber and oil palm in these forests is not only affecting biodiversity, but is hurting the indigenous people who call the forests home. The Rainforest Alliance is working with the people of Cameroon to organize community-managed forests, which have proven to successfully help protect forest cover.
The serious issues within the Congo are not confined to Africa; they are problems for the entire world. If the rainforests of the Congo Basin are not preserved and monitored, both human and animal lives will continue to perish because of greed and violence. Once these rainforests and the lives within them are gone, they can never be replaced.

SIGNED FOR THE MOUNTAIN GORILLAS .
As always if there is a problem the finger points to people and rightly so. We are dangerous and the ultimate invasive species. Surely there must be a herbicide t get rid of us. I signed this petition in June. if we could just free al animals in captivity first I would badly become part of the extinction of humans so that the animals and planet could exist safely. i\’m not really happy here anyway and sure do not like being a part of this species even though I know there are many good and caring people.
People are the problem. We need to reduce the human load by getting people to stop having kids while we act to protect nonhuman animals from us. We need to reduce the human load to well below 2 billion.
