After graduating high school, she moved to New York City, where she studied musical theater at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. New York's vibrant, urban environment can be very inspiring and it was here that writing became an important part of her life. Latrice later went on to attend Temple University in Philadelphia, where she earned a degree in Cultural Anthropology. Curiosity, a passion for creativity and a thirst for adventure led her live a bohemian life for many years, working unusual jobs and traveling all over the world. Animals, food, travel, nature, the arts, the ocean, history, laughter, dancing and other forms of merriment are all among her favorite things. These days, she has slowed down to enjoy a peaceful life with her family in Chesapeake VA, where she is experiencing the joys of being a writer, a wife and a new mother. Paula is a tiny baby chimp who was found by a group of Ex-Pats living in Africa when they were approached by a boy who had her stuffed into a backpack. Malnourished, terrified, and crawling with fleas and lice, it was obvious that the poor animal would not survive without their help. It was difficult to tell whether her mother was killed (as is so often the case with baby animals) or whether she was found as an orphan, but either way, they knew what they had to do. So they purchased her from the boy and took her home, determined to save her life.
Now, this sweet baby is on her way to her new home at the Mefou Primate Sanctuary in Cameroon, where she would learn how to live in nature with other primates, like herself and have a chance at a normal life. Great work but it must be without any thanks. We are the species, who have been destroying nature and habitats of animals. So if we help an animal to survive by giving them artificial home, we are killing the very essence of their life and community. Best efforts will be to realise our mistake and give their habitats back to them. Sorry, if this sounds too much, but this will be a real justice and not something like this.
