Amazing Team Saves Injured Bald Eagle Who Was Hit by Car (PHOTOS)

When the Emergency Communications Center in Montgomery County, Maryland got a call about an injured eagle in the area, Animals Services Division Officer, Jennifer Gill went straight to find her. She met with a resident who observed the eagle walk into the woods, and eventually found it hobbling around and unable to fly. Officer Gill, along with Officer Danny Thomas, wrapped the eagle up and took her straight to the Owl Moon Raptor Center, a wildlife rehabilitation center specializing in birds of prey. It’s believed the eagle, who was named Trust, was hit by a car while gnawing at a deer carcass on the side of the road. She suffered from internal bleeding and a shoulder injury from impact with the vehicle.

According to the rehabilitation center, Trust received lots of fluids and medicine for pain and inflammation.  

Later in the day, Owl Moon reported that she was “on her feet, resting comfortably, and a little brighter than she was this morning.”

Once Trust is stable and stronger, she’ll be taken to the Bennett Creek Animal Hospital for x-rays and further evaluation.
