The freeway is no place for a small skittish dog, but sadly, that is where Leah the Dachshund mix found herself. Little Leah was living under an underpass, mere feet from the busy highway. A kind family would come and bring her food from time to time, but they knew what she really needed was a forever home so they contacted Hope for Paws to help rescue her.
When the rescue team arrived to help Leah, she was absolutely terrified. Not knowing that these people had come to help her, Leah ran and hid in a sewer duct to avoid their nets. This, however, was an obstacle that Eldad and Lisa from Hope for Paws were more than happy to overcome if it meant getting Leah to a warm, forever home. With a lot of patience and expert maneuvering, they managed to coax Leah from her hiding spot and get her to the rescue center for care.
With a good bath and lots of love, Leah has transformed into a sweet, docile pup. To learn more about adopting this deserving pup, click here.

Hats off to the lady ho took so much trouble and pain in saving the cute dog. God bless both.
Beautiful dog, and have to respect the dedication of the rescuers, particularly the woman crawling into such a confined space, but oh!….was there no other way to catch her rather than scaring her so much and risking her falling into the drain?
