Almost one-third of the 1,500 people who’ve gone missing in Oakland are black women and girls, which is a very disproportionate figure. Studies have shown that black women are more likely to experience violence than women of other races, and it’s time they get the help they need. Luckily, a new bill has been introduced that would allow California to dedicate more resources to finding these marginalized women and girls. Please sign this petition to urge California legislators to sign Senate Bill 673!
