Dog Who Looks Like a Walking Skeleton Refuses to Give Up And These Rescuers Won’t Either

“Some of the photos in the pleas we receive will haunt us forever,” the Rescue Dogs Rock NYC team wrote in a Facebook post. Two of such photos recently reached the rescue. The dog in them, now named by the team Elliott, was depicted in a horrid condition due to severe human neglect. Upon receiving the pictures, the rescuers thought it was a miracle he was even alive at all. But even though all his bones are sticking out and he has little fur left on his body, Elliott seems to be looking for someone to help him – so that he can go on living. Miraculously, he is not giving up at all –  and neither are his rescuers.

Elliott came to the rescue by way of a South Carolina shelter and there is no information available about the person who had caused his current condition.

“The feelings and emotion these photos evoke are intense, anger, sadness, heartbreak, despair, helplessness,” the rescuers write. “[A]ll we can do now is try to give him his life back.”

Elliott must have endured something unimaginable – but his future can still be one of happiness and comfort that every animal deserves. If he survives, he stands a great chance of having that normal good life and forgetting all of what came before – but now he needs all the help he can possibly get.
