Puppies Saved From the Dog Meat Trade Need Your Help to Survive (VIDEO)

Thanks to the public outcry and media coverage of the Yulin Dog Festival most people are now aware of the cruel dog meat industry. Rescue organizations like the Soi Dog Foundation, animal advocates, and even good Samaritans have stepped up and saved countless dogs – including the mama and her babies in the video, from the meat trade.

There have been huge successes, like this truck full of 1,000 dogs that were saved thanks to over 100 Chinese activists and Humane Society International’s partner groups. In another raid, 500 cats were saved from being served in restaurants. Over 120 dog meat restaurants have been either shut down or ordered to no longer sell dog meat. Additionally, a recent survey showed that the majority of Chinese do not eat dog meat and even in the areas where the practice is most preserved, more than half had not eaten it in the last two years.

While this is great news, you have to wonder where all these animals go after they have been rescued. Rescue groups have worked hard to adopt out as many dogs as possible. However, for the ones that are still waiting on a forever home, they have to be cared for. They need shelter, food, and medical care, which is a huge financial stress for many non-profit rescues like the Soi Dog Foundation.
