This Incredible Woman Saved 90 Birds From the Wind and Rains of Hurricane Maria

Just recently, we shared the uplifting story of a Virgina Beach woman who chartered a plane to save 300 animals from the Carribean Islands after Hurricane Maria wrecked everything in her path. And now we have yet another story to share that will restore your faith in humanity!

Twitter user Michelle H., a student in Puerto Rico, saw a bird stranded during the storm and like any animal lover, knew she had to help the defenseless animal. She took the distraught bird into her home, along with some branches and leaves. After courageously changing the life of the one bird, Michelle was moved to continue helping others.

Michelle’s house was full of birds, 90 to be exact, sheltered from the high winds and heavy rain from Hurricane Maria. 

When the storm was over, Michelle released the birds so that they could rebuild their nests or fly elsewhere. “One by one they are going back home,” Michelle posted on Twitter. 

Thank you, Michelle, for helping our feathered friends in their time of need! 

Sadly, not all of the birds were so lucky. Michelle witnessed many who did not survive the devasting storm. We are thankful to Michelle for opening up her home and providing a safe haven for the 90 lucky birds who sought sanctuary.
