This groundbreaking Biosequin® jumpsuit, modeled by Cara Delevingne, graced the cover of American Vogue, capturing attention and admiration worldwide. These unique Biosequins are the brainchild of Radiant Matter, a company specializing in color and material solutions for the circular economy. Made from plant-derived cellulose, Biosequins are fully biodegradable and free from plastics, metals, minerals, and synthetic pigments. In contrast, traditional sequins are typically crafted from environmentally harmful synthetic materials like PVC or polyester film, which may also have negative effects on human health.

Stella McCartney’s eponymous fashion house has been at the forefront of sustainable fashion for years. In 2021, they introduced an updated version of their classic Eclypse sneakers made entirely from recycled and plant-derived materials. The brand also made history by launching the first-ever commercial bag made with Mylo, a mycelium-based leather alternative developed by Bolt Threads. A fresh white edition of this innovative bag was recently showcased at Paris Fashion Week. Ultimately, Stella McCartney aims to exclusively use recycled, recyclable, and biobased materials in their creations.
